Tigger learns about making grappa

We came across a fast running stream and a collection of old wooden buildinngs. In the centre was a circular wooden tub used the fast swirling water as a washing machine. The women use a long pole to get their clothes out. I wondred how many garments got washed downstream. Running off this was a distilery for making apple vodka and a local drink called grappa It has to go through the disillery many times otherwise the alchol level is too high. Women sit for hours chopping apples into small pieces to place them in an enormous barrel to begin the fermentation process Here In this ancient region of Maramues apple trees grow willd We have just missed the blossom season which woulld have been beautiful
A lady showed Tigger how corn which each family grows was placed in a grinder and came out like corn maize flour it was then placed in a sack to be used by the family for using to make special food I wonder if you can help me find a recipe for food in this area. For lunch we had soup with a boiled egg in it and a meat and rice mixture wrapped in cabbage leaves.
