Turkey

After spending 2 nights in Varna we traveled 11 hours in a bus through a country which has the same name as a bird eaten in America for thanksgiving

Im Home

Hi everyone it has been so cold since I arrived Ive not been able to put my fingers on the key board!!
After leaving Constanta we went to Varna to bathe in the sun. Can you find which country we were in as we had to go through a border check. The customs official and the Police wanted to see our enty visas and issue us with new visas to come into this country. It was raining when we arrived and the first hotel we were to stay at was full so we trudged our bags along the foot path to another one. I was worried we might sleep on the beach for the night.
Next morning we saw the waves and huge container ships out on the Black Sea. Wonder if there is a reason why its called that?
The beach spot was great. I found some wommen knitting on circular needles and selling table cloths they had made. They had a stall set up in the park. All along the beach beautifu sun umbrellas were set up to laze away the day. We went and looked in a supermarket. There was so much food to choose from cheese and milk products we wouldnt find at home but vegatables, and fruit were the same. Even some kiwi fruit grown in Australia!!
You guessed we had pizza for lunch again. There was a fast food resturant called Happy Chicken so we ate there for tea. I wanted to go for a swim but the water was freezing. A man told us that in winter if they get a cold snap with the wind blowing from Sibera the sea water around the edge freezes over. Brrr
